If you could have something named after you, what would it be?
Bear with me.
I’m not perfect and don’t want to come off sounding like I am better than anyone else.
Here goes.
When I first considered this question, my mind wandered to grand possibilities: a majestic geographical landmark, a distant celestial body, a newly discovered species, or even a groundbreaking scientific discovery. These ideas were enticing, but as I reflected deeper, I realized that if something were to bear my name, it would need to serve a greater purpose—one that alleviates the suffering of others.
Life has taught me that nothing is guaranteed. One moment in particular reshaped my perspective forever: a single elevator ride. It lasted only forty-five seconds, descending from the fourth floor of a hospital to the main lobby. Yet in that brief span of time, I encountered another person’s raw and unfiltered pain—a stranger whose anguish was palpable. That fleeting moment shook me profoundly, forcing me to confront the immense burdens others carry every day.
Every day, families face life-altering decisions for their loved ones—decisions that should never be overshadowed by financial strain. Their focus should be on healing and hope, not on how to afford care.
If I could create something meaningful in this world, it would be a children’s hospital bearing my name. This hospital would be more than just a place of treatment; it would be a sanctuary offering free, comprehensive care for children and their families. It would address not only physical health but also emotional well-being—providing solace during life’s most difficult moments.
While I may not have the means to build such a hospital today, I can support those who are already making a difference. Organizations like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital embody this vision of hope and healing. If you are able, I encourage you to consider donating to St. Jude. Every contribution—no matter how small—helps provide vital care and support to patients and their families.

In a way we can all have our names added to something.
