Moving past gas-and-go
We’ve become so much more than “gas-and-go”, and I think that’s something worth being proud of.
A recent report from @CSP Daily News found that nearly 60% of convenience stores now offer made-to-order food. Even more telling: a growing number of customers are coming in purely for a customized beverage, a clean restroom, or EV charging, without buying a drop of fuel.
That tells me our industry’s identity is genuinely shifting into a “third place” for our communities, somewhere between home and work. If a store’s layout still prioritizes rushing people in and out, it might be missing out on some of our fastest-growing revenue streams: an inviting seating area, healthier snacking options, a reason to linger just a little.
What’s one change you’ve made to your store that’s turned it into more of a destination? I’d love to hear about it.
